What does a care coordinator job involve?
Candidates will be responsible for assessing a patient’s needs and developing a suitable care plan. The care coordinator role is varied and tasks may include meeting patients and family members, organising care teams, assigning nurses, managing rotas and recruiting staff. In a domiciliary role, care is provide in the home, meaning that the coordinator may be required to do some travelling.

Social care providers will usually employ coordinators on a full-time, permanent basis, however part-time and contract vacancies are also present in the industry. Recruitment agencies will work with both private and public organisations, typically searching for candidates with a social care diploma or NVQ, experience in a care setting and excellent people skills.
