The capital accounts for nearly a third of the entire UK recruitment industry. Agencies in the City of London make up 31% of the total market, while nearby Westminster and Mayfair have 6% and 5.7% respectively. Why are there so many employment agencies in London?
As the UK capital and an international centre for business, the city attracts a global pool of leading candidates and employers. More than half of new jobs created are in the South East, and salaries are 61% greater than the country’s average. As a result, it’s unsurprising to see such a high concentration of London agencies.
