    The capital accounts for nearly a third of the entire UK recruitment industry. Agencies in the City of London make up 31% of the total market, while nearby Westminster and Mayfair have 6% and 5.7% respectively.     Why are there so many employment agencies in London?

    As the UK capital and an international centre for business, the city attracts a global pool of leading candidates and employers. More than half of new jobs created are in the South East, and salaries are 61% greater than the country’s average. As a result, it’s unsurprising to see such a high concentration of London agencies.

    While there are currently estimated to be around six million local workers, the city is expected to experience an increase of 1.2 million jobs by 2041.
